About the Event
Allow nature in to help you set wellness intentions for Spring!
Join Maura Smotrich, Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, on a slow and somatic outdoor walk through the nurturing natural environment of Wainwright House grounds. Class will take place partly outside so please dress accordingly.
Through a series of open invitations that leave space for individual interpretation and creativity, participants may open their sensory gateways and feel embodiment in the present. The practice is open-ended and there is no prescription for what a person should experience or receive. Participants come together as a group during the experience through sharing and a closing tea ceremony, often leading to cohesion, clarity, and community building.
There are empirically demonstrated health benefits from nature therapy. They can include reduced blood pressure, reduced cortisol levels, boosted immune function, mood improvement, and increased focus/cognition. The experience is designed as a trauma informed and pressure free practice for participants, and a perfect way to clear the way for a fresh start to Spring.
